I’ve been wanting to review Basilico for the longest time but I feel that my photos are quite inadequate. I hate taking photos of buffets as I feel like I’m getting in the way of others. Also, many places use heating lamps so my photos don’t turn out well since the whole photo comes out glowing yellow/orange. However, after visiting The Tea Lounge for their high tea buffet, I felt that I really should review The Regent since it houses two incredible buffets – the Italian Buffet at Basilico and the High Tea buffet at Tea Lounge.

hellofromHCMC. Ho Chi Minh City: Eden Saigon Hotel

Recently, I went to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), aka Saigon, with Ronald for a short getaway from the 2nd to 5th of August. For accommodation, our priorities were:

  1. a great location (we searched in the vicinity of Ben Thanh market – yeah touristy I know but we had no idea where to start)
  2. comfort
  3. a reasonable price

Due to point 2, we restricted our choices to hotels instead of looking at hostels as well. Fortunately, accommodation in HCMC is pretty cheap so we managed to find a number of hotels in the SGD70-SGD90 a night range. Eventually, we decided on Eden Saigon Hotel where we stayed for the entirety of our trip.
